The Direction of the Country under Republicans

ok, I am not crazy. My personal nemesis & archrival Roy and I have been discussing the direction that we feel the Republican administration is going. It sounds a bit paranoiac, but last night I heard it confirmed by Dennis Kucinich (who looks a good deal like Gollum). The Republicans want to get out of the business of helping people. They don't want to fund social programs, education, arts, or health care... AT ALL. They want to run the country like a business, which is their forte. For example, Bush said that there would be a 10% increase in the budget for the war on terrorism. He also said he wants to go to Mars. Then he said we have to reduce spending and that there would be a freeze on spending. Well, it is good to reduce spending because he has run our country into the ground financially and the deficit is sick out of control. But we don't even have money for his spending plans for the war or mars because he cut the taxes too drastically. So where will the money come from? Schools, arts, environmental legislation. The republicans want education to be the burden of the states, and they will tell you that. However, the states don't have any money. So don't expect any money for little Jack to go to college, unless it's on Mars... because apparently we have money for that. I say, how about universal health care and subsidized college education for willing and qualified individuals BEFORE we go to Mars. How about getting Americans jobs first? more on this to come, much more to come
