Friday Fives
1. What if any instrument do you play?I play guitar
2. If you could choose to play an instrument what would it be?
aside from guitar? or are you implying that I don't play guitar really well enough to describe myself as a guitar player? Because if that is what you're saying, that seems petty and mean spirited. Oh, really? sorry. I would love to be able to play saxophone. Doesn't that seem like a super sexy instrument?
3. If you were in a band, what would your band’s name be?
hmmm. That isn't really a concern for me. As a musicean, I see bands put way too much work thinking up a punny name instead of creating great art. Work on the music, the name will come at it's own time. That being said, my very good buddy 'Los is in a band with perhaps the coolest name I can think of - Dragonfly Jones (and their music is great).
update > I remember my band name. If you steal it, I'll sue your ass! You and your whole jerkwater band. Here it is. Are you ready? Because, it's going to be pretty sweet.
Illegal Monkey Veterinarian®4. What type of music would your band play?
Well, that I have thought about. It would be acoustic based, but there would be moments of hardness and unnecessary rockin'. I guess my vision would be a lot like early Smashing Pumpkins, which is why I was so drawn to them.
5. Would you continue to be good for years to come, or would you and your band end up in Branson playing for bus loads of elderly?
Funny you ask, because I have a theory about this. All bands should be forcably disbanded after 5 albums. Sure you can reference U2 as an exception... but five albums and we close up shop would have suited almost every great band very well.
Ok, not the Beatles... but they invented music.
Side note, anyone who says they Beatles are over-rated should be stabbed in the throat. Since I am a music snob, there are other offenses that warrant a stabbing in the throat by me:
calling any band the next U2 (especially Coldplay)
