Now we have proof

Hey all, just a quick post to point out the fact that we now have proof that Halliburton was a sweetheart deal from Cheney. I mean, we all expected it... but now we know. E-mail cited by Time implies veep helped ex-employer get Iraq contract The e-mail -- dated March 5, 2003 -- says Douglas Feith, undersecretary of defense for policy, approved the arrangement to award the contract to the oil-services company, the administration official said. According to an e-mail excerpt in Time, the contract was "contingent on informing WH [White House] tomorrow. We anticipate no issues since action has been coordinated w[ith] VP's office." The Corps of Engineers gave Halliburton the contract three days later without seeking other bids, Time reports. I'd like to add this. As you may know, I am a very serious opponent of the administration. In earlier days, I used to use this blog to slam the president, and campaign against him. I have pretty much stopped doing that, because the President doesn't need any help. All I have to do is sit back and watch him totally screw himself as more stuff comes out every day. Think of all the bad stuff we know about the president, kay? Now, think of how much we are still just learning now about how evil Nixon was. So what the hell are we going to find out about GW Bush in 20 years that is going to make this stuff look tame? Last Sunday the Post (which I still have in my recycling bin) did a front page piece on the fact that the top 100 lobbyists for industry and energy ALL work for the White House now. You remember hearing that Ken Lay was brought in to draft up the energy policy, but it appears all industry people have written all the policy. To quote the Post (who I think was probably quoting someone else). It's like fox guarding the henhouse. We are all doomed
