ode to my mother
Yesterday was my mom's birthday. I wanted to take a moment to tell you how terrific my mom is. She is a role model for me in every sense. You know how religious people wear bracelets that say 'WWJD'? This stands 'What would Jesus do?'. This is stupid, and so are those people. However, I bring this up to illustrate a point; as an adult I often ask myself 'how would my mom handle this?'Don't worry, she isn't gone. She just lives in a different state and I don't get to talk to her often (even though I am her favorite son).
So I just wanted to say it out loud. I love my mom! She is the most important and influential person in my life. My mom rules!

Actually, your mom called the other day...
Turns out I am the favorite son.
Something about never having to go down to the police station with a clean change of underwear for me?
